Posture Correction - Are Static Postures Largely to Blame For Back Pain?Posted by: Mr.Admin in Gymnastic Sites and The Best ArticlesI looked the word up in the Oxford English dictionary and found the following:- posture noun 1 a particular position of the body. 2 the way in which a person holds their body. 3 an approach or attitude towards something. The first version is position orientated and is the most popular definition. However the second version is more subjective, and I think better because it implies that there is more to posture than simply position. In the quest to find out what posture really means, I asked a teacher of the Alexander technique how they would define posture. Unlike the average person, they quoted the second version. They said posture is not really about position, but it’s to do with the relationship between parts of the body. Good posture is often thought of as a specific pose, but if you look at young children who everyone would agree have good posture naturally, it is clear that they hold no one position for more than a few seconds. How Can This Theory Help with Posture Correction? … Tags: Alexander, Alexander Technique, Attitude, Average Person, Back Pain, Good Posture, Noun, Orientated, Oxford English Dictionary, Pose, Posture, Posture Correction, Relationship, Static Postures

A Gymnastic Riding System Using Mind, Body, and Spirit: Progressive Training for Rider and HorsePosted by: Mr.Admin in Gymnastics Training
A unique, highly illustrated book that offers training techniques for the mind, body, and spirit of both rider and horse, including a specially designed Pilates program for riders. Customer Review: communicate with your horse This book does a great job of going through the development of rider and horse from the beginning. It teaches you all of the elements you need to be able to have a real relationship with your horse that is based on trust. Customer Review: A must read Definitely a “must have” for all those interested in dressage as a sport and for other diciplines wishing to improve their horses. Gives a well-rounded approach to riding including being responsible as riders to be sympathetic and diciplined. I especially liked the chapter about the horse’s willingness and how to improve that. I give Betsy Steiner a lot of credit for making dressage theory clear and practical while speaking to those with years of experience. Great pictures and summary tables to clarify the rather detailed training maps. After many half-read dressage books that seem repetitive this one will be one I can use in real life as I train on my own at the moment. I look forward to more of Betsy’s work.
